Knini Paati Eco River Resort is a resort located in the heart of the Surinamese rainforest, in the Sipaliwini district, approximately 200 km from Paramaribo. The journey to the resort takes about three hours by road, followed by a boat ride of less than an hour. The resort is situated on an island made up of two parts, nestled in the breathtaking rapids of the Ferulasi Sula, in the upper Suriname region of the Suriname River.

The story of Knini Paati began in 2011, when the founder envisioned to create a place where people could relax and enjoy the nature. What started as a simple site with four camps, a communal area, and a kitchen, has since evolved into a resort with thirteen comfortable lodges, an inviting dining hall, and a swimming pool. Guests can fully immerse themselves in and enjoy the tropical surroundings, experience the local culture, or unwind in the refreshing rapids of the river.

Knini Paati is run with passion and dedication, with a strong focus on environmental conservation and cultural respect. The resort is partly powered by solar energy to minimize its ecological footprint. All staff members come from nearby villages, helping to support local employment, promote knowledge sharing, and preserve traditions.
